Katinka is a typical white-and-black pattern Nguni cow with strong Swazi influence visible in her phenotype that is evidenced in one of the best genetic profiles in the Genesis Stud. She weighed 384Kg on 25 February 2023.

Katinka was born under very challenging circumstances and is lucky to have survived. She is not agressive but has a very insecure and anxious predisposition, hide behind the other cows and run off if she gets a chance. Although she has settled down considerably since moving to New Africa a year ago (and is expected to continue to improve with the correct care), Katinka is still a challenge to handle. We are confident though that her nature is circumstantial and not genetic. Below are photo's of her sire (Snow) and dam (Ulwandle). Both were very calm animals that were easy to handle. Her calf Tugela was born in pastoralist tradition at New Africa, and has an excellent nature in stark contrast to her mother.

Tugela will be pleasure to handle, is suspected to be pole (like her grandmother Ulwandle and her great-grandmother Thengani). Her sire is a Nguni bull.

Katinka has been running with several Nguni bulls in a multi sire breeding program.
